The North Carolina Legislative Black Caucus is an unincorporated association comprised of Senators and Representatives of African American heritage and Native American heritage. The primary purpose of the Caucus is to operate as a vehicle through which Blacks, Native Americans and other minorities residing in the State of North Carolina will be able to exercise their political power in a unified manner; to ensure that the views and concerns of Blacks and other communities of color are carried out by their elected representatives; and to work to develop the political consciousness of Black people.
