The North Carolina Legislative Black Caucus is an association comprised of 37 Senators and Representatives; of African American,  American Indian and Asian-American Indian heritage at the North Carolina General Assembly.  The Caucus is organized as a vehicle to exercise unified political power for the betterment of people of color,  and    consequently, all North Carolinians; to ensure that the views and concerns of African Americans and other communities of color are carried out by their elected representatives; and to work to develop the political consciousness of citizens of all communities and cultures.
