Tuesday Wrap: Hands off that cellphone

— A hands-free cell phone bill passed one of several committees Tuesday ​in the House, and a voter ID bill moved to delay implementation until 2020.

But there’s an issue: Some are worried a looming deadline for college campuses to get their student ID’s approved will cause problems in 2020.

The House and Senate both honored late Congressman Walter Jones Tuesday, a pair of school schedule flexibility bills moved in the House and Gov. Roy Cooper got tentative approval for one of his appointments to the state Industrial Commission.
